Tiivistelmä:Employee exploitation receives substantial media attention, but it is often focused on the developing countries. This article examines the employment policies of large companies in the industrialized West, concentrating on those promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR). The analysis is done by using qualitative questionnaire results from the McDonald's Corporation. The key findings are that although being a strong advocate for CSR, McDonald's still practices questionable employment policies, including low wages, and abuses of labour rights and health and safety standards. The paper concludes with the statement that CSR seems fundamentally unrealistic and unethical.
