| Tiivistelmä: | The authors consider the issue of information intelligence, which means the organizational capability of using the increasing amount of organizationÂ’s information assets successfully. The authors have started from a certain area of knowledge management (KM), namely from the using of market research data. Both market research and business executives have been interviewed. The article concentrates on key barriers to effective using and gaining value from information. Three basic types of barriers to information intelligence are identified and each one is discussed in detail. The article concludes that managers dealing with KM can learn from past business intelligence and KM initiatives, but also from market research and decision science principles. |
