| Tiivistelmä: | This article studies international trade by examining competition between a domestic and a foreign manufacturer in a market, where contracts offered by product intermediaries are endogenous and may specify exclusive territories. The author finds that the liberalization of trade may lead to manufacturers using exclusive territories. As a result, competition and welfare may decrease and therefore create a demand for a competition policy in a freer trade environment. |
