| Tiivistelmä: | This article deals with systemic functional insights related with translated film dialogue. Outlined are key contributions from the fields of stylistics, film studies and corpus-based translation studies. Drawing on the analysis of four scenes of the English and Spanish versions of "Twelve Angry Men" (S. Lumet (1957), it is aimed at demonstrating the advantages of Martin's (2000) systemic functional modelling of the exchange, especially his notion of 'telos'. |
