Tiivistelmä:This article deals with the process of marketization which has gradually transformed health care by the end of the 20th century. The conditions of possibility for the transformation has been the social impact of the market discourse (here as: mkt-disc.), gradually displacing the view of a sick person from that of a passive patient to that of an active customer. While referring to and using a market theme operationalized in the Swedish context, the influential voices gradually legitimize the mkt-disc (original in Swedish).
