Tiivistelmä:Firm's information (hereafter as: info.) base is one of its biggest assets with knowledge of prior errors and failures. One area of interest has been cross-cultural differences in negative info. sharing (here as: i-sh.) etc. This study examines the role of the two cultural values, that is individualism-collectivism, and to a lesser extent power distance, in explaining national differences in i-sh. By focusing on a sample from Chile and Australia, the regional cultural dimension of face was possible to be removed, which has been inherent in prior studies using Greater China as the representative of a collectivist society. Results from the quasi experiment show that when a supervisor (here as: s-v.) is present during i-sh., collectivist Chilean (as: C.) decision-makers (as: d-ms.) are more willing to share negative info. with their colleagues than their counterpart and individualist Australian (as: A.) d-ms. In addition, the results also show that when a s-v. is absent, both A. and C. d-ms. are willing to share more negative info. but the increase in the A. propensity is significantly greater than that of the C.
