| Tiivistelmä: | The studies of gift exchange in a one-employer-one-worker relationships have demonstrated that a notable fraction of workers reward higher wages with higher effort. This article examines whether the results change when the employer employs more than one worker by comparing a bilateral gift exchange game with a situation in which each employer has four workers. The results show that effort levels in the latter situation are only slightly lower suggesting the robustness of gift exchange to the size of the workforce. |
