| Tiivistelmä: | This article focuses on the effects of the neighbourhood, school and schoolmates have on students' educational achievements. The analyze of the influence of these background attributes was based on data about the educational achievements of 26000 Swedish metropolitan area upper secondary school students. According to the findings, the school have more influence on individuals' achievements than the neighbourhood. |
