| Tiivistelmä: | In the article, an image of the places in which people have had only an indirect relation through the mediation is examined. The empiric examples will represent the experiences of the Swedes who have travelled to the United States in the 1950's. The narratives and pictorial expressions of travellers can widen our understanding about the differences between the experienced and mediated image of places. In addition to the change of the relationship to places, this article considers the role of the media and mediation in this process. |
