| Tiivistelmä: | Three popular TV detective series are analysed in the study, each of which has led to substantial tourist numbers. A content-based explanation for the popularity of the TV detective tour is provided. The results reveal that the tourist attraction of the TV detective programme is due partly to its topophilic character. 'Couleur locale' seems to be very important to the narrative setting of the programmes; the narratives elaborate on existing tourist gazes. The narrative development is characterized by a process of investigation and tracking. The TV detective genre promises the tourist an acquaintance with the thrilling 'guilty' landscapes. |
