| Tiivistelmä: | This paper explores investments in enterprise software systems (hereafter as: e-s-s.) supporting business processes. More than 500 Swiss small and medium-sized enterprises' (SMEs) managers responded to a survey on the levels of their IT investment in e-s-s. and the investments' perceived utility. Using logistic and ordinary least squares regression, it is examined whether IT investments in two business processes affect SMEs' performance and competitive advantage. Using cluster analysis, developed is also a firm typology with four distinct groups differing in their investments in e-s-s. |
