| Tiivistelmä: | This article presents the results of a study of partners accompanying the expatriated representatives of multinational corporations (MNCs) on overseas missions. It is found out that they are mostly home alone, often unprepared. The ICT methods of German MNCs are identified to support these partners before and during international assignments. Based on over 140 German expatriated partners on overseas missions to 36 countries, it is found that traditional ICT is only provided to the minority of partners in German MNCs. It follows no predictable time pattern, and is mostly seen as rather useless by participants. Yet, particular attention is paid to the target culture in the ICT design. |
