Tiivistelmä:Direct employee involvement quality (DEIQ) is and important part of human resource management in innovative firms. In this article, three manufacturing companies in the Netherlands are examined by conducting semi-structured interviews with employees and managers. Qualitative approach is employed to investigate the pre-conditions of DEIQ and to identify its possible new dimensions. The critical role of the HR function and adequate preparation of direct supervisors are found to be important for successful DEIQ, as indicated also by prior research. In addition, the authors find a new dimension affecting DEIQ: the employment relationship.
