| Tiivistelmä: | This paper models the growth rate and volatility in daily international (henceforth as: int-al.) tourist arrivals (herein as: t-arvls.) to Peru from 1997 to 2007. Based on empirical results, it is shown that int-al. t-arvls. with their growth rates are stationary. The estimated symmetric and asymmetric conditional volatility models all fit the data well. In addition, the estimates resemble those arising from financial time series data, with both short and long run persistence of shocks to the international t-arvls.' growth rate. |
