| Tiivistelmä: | This article critically examines the influence and meaning of managerialism in a pharmaceutical firm by investigating its rocky basis. ManagersÂ’ excuses of the failure in research leading to new products demonstrated notable variety. This reflects the lack of common understanding of research inefficiencies and difficulties to define the roots of the problems. In spite of this people accuse bad management and rely on improved responsibility of managers. The research emphasizes the confusion of causes of the research inefficiencies and how this is stifled as well as exploited by the introduction of a scrappy managerialist agenda. |
