| Tiivistelmä: | In the field of knowledge-based development (KBD), the theme of Knowledge Cities (KC) has attracted much attention. Many cities are interested in adopting KBD approaches, especially KC development strategies. The KC theme, being multi-dimensional, has sparked the interest of researchers of a variety of disciplines as well. It is only recently that local policy makers and researchers have started co-operating to develop successful KC. Therefore, a lack of integrated KC strategies is a problem that the article aims to fix by presenting innovative features to previous methodology. The presented methodology has been successfully implemented in a Greek municipality, and practical development strategies and key issues and implications regarding the implication of the methodology for other KC are discussed. |
