| Tiivistelmä: | This article analyzes welfare regime and socioeconomic differences in poverty levels and patterns in an attempt to find alternative poverty indicators. With the enlargement of EU, common measures of poverty are receiving increasing criticism. National frame of reference and drawing conclusions from low income are some of the critique. In an attempt to utilize the strength of both arguments, the mixed consistent poverty indicator has been developed in this study. This is done by comparing the outcomes of those at risk of poverty and those living in consistent poverty at both national and EU levels. |
