| Tiivistelmä: | Emotional intelligence (EI) is often considered as an antecedent of transformational leadership (TFL) and various empirical studies argue a positive relationship between these variables. Using a multi-rater assessment (N = 227), this study aimed to solve the problem of method variance, while at the same time assess its potential presence by comparing same-source and non-same-source data. Results propose that there is not a relationship between IE and TFL. The conclusion is that management researchers need to re-conceptualize the relationship between EI and TFL. |
