| Tiivistelmä: | This article discusses the key debates and controversies that encounter business schools and management research. The quick rise and development of business schools in the UK is analysed. The production of management knowledge reaches the uncertain divide between academic rigour and practical relevance. It is argued that the conflicting sources of legitimacy could be undermining the international research competitiveness of UK schools. |
