Tiivistelmä:Corporate codes of conduct (henceforth as: c-of-c.) are a practical corporate social responsibility (CSR) instrument commonly used to control employee behaviour and establish a socially responsible (SR) organizational culture.
This study explored the importance of code content in determining code effectiveness by examining the relationship btw. c-of-c. quality and ethical performance. Companies keeping up high quality c-of-c. were notably more represented among top CSR ranking systems for corporate citizenship, sustainability, ethical behaviour, and public perception. Furthermore, a significant relationship was found btw. code quality and CSR performance, across a full range of ethical rankings. Based on the findings, code quality is suggested to possibly having a key role in the effectiveness of c-of-c. with their ability to transforming organizational cultures.
