Abstract:With globalization, competitive advantage may increasingly depend on success in managing paradoxical strategies (henceforth as: strs.), that is, strs. associated with contradictory, yet integrated tensions. Several types of complex business models (here as: b-m/s.) are identified which organizations will need to adopt if they are to host such paradoxical strs. Managing complex b-m/s. effectively depends on leadership capable of making dynamic decisions, building commitment to visions and agenda specific goals, learning actively at multiple levels, and engaging conflict. These functions can be engaged by leaders through team-centric or leader-centric structures.
