| Tiivistelmä: | The aim of this paper is to highlight the potential of Niklas Luhmanns approach to systems theory presented in the recent special issue of Organization. The authors criticize the papers published in the special issue and try to clarify the empirical usability of the theory. They illustrate with three examples the contribution of Luchmansss approach to empirical studies of organizations and organization theory. The examples show that there are many different ways in which researchers can consider organizations as phenomenon. |
